Every time Steve Jobs announces the new iPod nano, we expect a lot. The iPod nano has to be the shape shifter in the iPod family. Remember the drastic changes from the second generation to the third generation? It then changed back to its original form in the fourth generation. A camera was then added to the fifth. This time the iPod nano shed the camera and that’s not all, the iconic click wheel is also dropped, in favor of the brand new 1.54 inch multi touch display. The iPod nano comes in a slew of colors, including a Product(RED) version.

This third incarnation of the popular iPod shuffle has undergone an extensive weight loss program and emerged in its slimmest form ever. It’s barely larger than a couple of stacked sticks of gum and appears to be crafted with a minimalist aesthetic in mind. Why so?
