
Hewlett Packard recently announced the shipment date of its iPAQ 912 Business Messenger, a 3G smartphone designed for maximum mobile productivity.
Due to be available this September, the iPAQ 912 offers triband UMTS/HSDPA and quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity that enables users to make calls and quickly access the Internet around the world.
It sports a stylish, piano-black design and features an integrated Qwerty keyboard, Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system as well as Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity.
It also has a five-way navigation button and scroll wheel on the side for convenient one-handed navigation through menus and e-mails, HP said.
Additionally, the phone has built-in Cyberon Voice Commander and HP Voice Reply features for handsfree e-mailing and other device commands. Those constantly on the move will welcome the built-in GPS (global positioning system).
On the business side, the iPAQ 912 supports HP Enterprise Mobility Suite, the company’s mobile device management solution that allows enterprises to remotely manage, help secure and support mobile devices for maximum device performance.
In terms of multimedia features, the phone has a 3-megapixel camera with and all the accompanying entertainment applications of the Windows Mobile 6 operating system.
Estimated pricing for the iPAQ 912 Business Messenger will be around US$549.
