The image is notably more brilliant and clear through the gloss faceplate, than through the frosted plate. Would a person frost his eyeglasses? It's sort of the same thing. Frosting makes monitors manageable in rooms with bright lights, where the lights would put hard reflections of themselves on the screen. But for dimmed rooms, rooms where you can control the light behind you, a crystalline screen is wonderful, like a free upgrade to the image quality. The glossy screen is not a nuisance to me.
