
The N82 is the latest in Nokia’s line of N-series uber-phones. Basically, this phone has it all. Running on Symbian S60, the Nokia N82 is a quad-band phone with 3G. If you’re not on an unlimited data-plan. you can also access the Internet via the built-in WiFi connectivity. Besides web-browsing, the many media applications in the Nokia N82 also rely on an Internet connection, such as podcasting, blogging and uploading to YouTube or Flickr. Being connected is really important to fully experience the Nokia N82.
Now we move on the the N82’s media capabilities. Most prominently featured is the N82’s five megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and real xenon flash. Besides taking full-quality images, the camera is also capable of taking VGA videos at 30 frames per second. Like the N95, the Nokia N82 can output to TV with the included TV cables.
For music lovers, the Nokia N82 has A2DP stereo Bluetooth and FM radio tuner. You can store your music on the phone with 100MB of built-in storage. Further storage can be added with MicroSD cards.
The N82’s QVGA screen is slightly smaller than a N95’s, but is still bright and sharp with support for 16 million colors. The N82’s screen does have one major improvement – an accelerometer. Turning the phone on it’s side automatically switches the screen into landscape orientation. This is useful during web-browsing and watching videos. Speaking of videos, the Nokia N82 supports playback of H.264, RealVideo and MPEG4.
On top of it all, the Nokia N82 also has GPS built-in. The GPS supports A-GPS which uses GSM information in addition to satellite signals. The Nokia N82 comes with Nokia’s Maps application for your navigational needs.
