The HTC Touch Pro is essentially a Touch Diamond with a sliding QWERTY keyboard underneath. This adds quite a bit of thickness to the phone, just under 2cm, which is almost as thick as the HTC TyTN. Overall, however, the dimensions remain reasonably compact like the HTC Diamond. The keyboard has five rows of responsive keys with a fairly comprehensive layout. You get full alphanumeric, tab, caps, shift and CTRL keys in all the traditional positions you would find on a full desktop keyboard. Like the HTC Diamond, the front face is completely flat and features a beautiful 640×480 (VGA) touchscreen display. This high-resolution display results in very sharp graphics and the ability for a more sensible amount of screen real-estate, especially for web browsing.
The new Touch Pro also features an accelerometer for automatic screen resolution as well as enabling motion based applications. It also has A-GPS, WiFi, Bluettoth and a FM radio receiver. The 3.2-megapixel camera on the back now also has an LED photo light for better photos at night.
Under the hood, the Touch Pro has a 512MB of flash storage and 288MB of application RAM. The Touch Pro also features the new TouchLFO 3D interface we first saw on the Touch Diamond. It features heavy use of eye-candy graphics like following items in the contact, photo and message views. Unlike earlier versions of TouchFLO, the new interface is more than just skin deep. HTC has gone to customize several other screens such as settings and dialer. Should you need an on-screen keyboard that are a huge improvement over the standard Windows keyboard, HTC Touch Pro is one of them you can try.
