Razor has always been known for their top-notched gaming peripherals and the Boomslang is not left out in this case. With cool green lighting and lefty friendly, this gaming mouse is really big in the mouse department and I mean literally.
Firstly, it comes packaged in a fancy Razor metal box which makes it look really impressive. And the first thing you would notice about the mouse is -its size. When I first rested my palm on the mouse, I felt it was too big for my hand. And it being a low-profile mouse, it somehow seemed uncomfortable at first. However, after a while I got used to it and it was easier to move it without my wrist cramping up, although frankly it takes some time to get adjusted to it. Probably the Boomslang would be more suitable to slightly larger hands.
With USB plug and play feature with installation and driver software, the Boomslang is customizable to suit your gaming needs. The mouse tweaking software is pretty similar to most Razor gaming mouse particularly the Copperhead, although there are a few differences unique to the Boomslang. You are able to to toggle the on and off of both the scroll wheel light and the ‘ring’ light at the base of the mouse.
Tweaking the sensitivity of the mouse is easy and you can go up to 2000dpi. However, setting it that high makes it too sensitive and you can get dizzily drunk in playing CoD4. But the most convenient feature would be the on-the-fly sensitivity adjustment. You can tweak DPI settings, polling rates, scroll speed, assign different actions to each of the 5 buttons, adjust sensitivit, assign double click speeds, seven insert delays and save them all to a maximum of five different profiles.
The biggest drawback is the price, although I must say with incredible adjustabilit, ambidextrous usage, easy adjustment, and a funky look, it sure is worth every cent.
