
Viewsonic’s PJ760 is a new multimedia projector with a high brightness lamp. Rated at 3,200 lumens, the Viewsonic’s PJ760 has a native resolution of 1024×768 on it’s LCD projection element. The high brightness makes the Viewsonic’s PJ760 suitable for presentations even in lighted indoor situations. Weighing only 3.6kg, it is also reasonably light enough to carry home from the office for personal use.

The physical layout of the Viewsonic’s PJ760 is typical Viewsonic. The grey box holds the lens assembly without any part sticking out and the two front feet are adjustable for height. The projector features a short thrown lens, which enables the projector to display a 60 inch image at just 1.8m, ideal for apartments or small meeting rooms.

Being a multimedia projector, the Viewsonic’s PJ760 features a variety of input options. There are two VGA D-sub inputs for connecting two computers. For video sources, you have composite, S-video and components input. The Viewsonic’s PJ760 supports progressive video for watching movies and built in 3:2 pulldown for smooth upsampling.

The on-screen menu offers the expected settings like color, aspect and other adjustments. The PJ760 has digital keystone adjustments up to 30 degrees for off-center situations. Operationally, there is also a whisper-mode that reduces the overall noise to around 30 decibels. This mode also extends the lap life to a claimed 4,000 hours MTBF.
Viewsonic’s PJ760 is an able performer that features superior brightness and diverse inputs to cater for a variety of situations at the office and at home.
