This must be one of the smallest wireless router we’ve seen. The Prolink WNR1006 is about the same size of slice of bread but it has all the necessary functions that wireless routers should have, including Wireless N connectivity. There is a row of LEDs on top of the router that indicates the connectivity of the Ethernet ports, WLAN as well as internet activity.
There are four Ethernet ports located at the side of the router, a WAN port as well as the power connector next to it. Three huge antennas are screwed to the back of the router and when we say huge, it’s HUGE. The antennas are longer than the router itself and to be honest, it looks weird.
Setting up the router was as easy as ABC. Just follow the setup wizard on the web based user interface and you’ll be surfing your favorite site in no time. Wireless transfer speed was as good as the other Wireless N routers in the market and it’s nothing to be excited about.
The Prolink WNR1006 is great if you are looking to upgrade your Wireless G router to the new standards but does the antennas need to be this big?
